An industrial laundry is a business that requires a lot of resources, and this can have a significant impact on the environment. However, there are steps you can take to ensure that your laundry is more sustainable and eco-friendly. We recently equipped a brand new laundry in Saint Martin (Dutch Caribbean) with our Smart Laundry products (see link below). US Laundry is now the most sustainable laundry in the Dutch Caribbean. In this blog post, we’re going to show you how to clean sustainable and green in your industrial laundry in two steps.

Sustainable Step 1: Gain Insights with Laundry Intelligence

Before you can make any changes to your laundry process, you need to understand how your machines are performing and where you can make improvements. Laundry Intelligence is a tool that can help you do just that. With Laundry Intelligence, you can track how your washers and dryers perform in real-time. You can see how much water and electricity they are using, as well as gas usage in the case of dryers. You can also check the water levels in graphs to see if there are any mismatches between programmed temperature, water usage, or water levels. This information can help you identify areas where you can make changes to improve sustainability.

Here’s an actual example from a laundry. The actual temperature of the water is 45.2 degrees (Celsius) versus the 45 degrees that programmed. The actual water level is also lower than initially programmed.

Sustainable Step 2: Make Changes with Smart Control

Once you have identified areas where you can make improvements, it’s time to take action. Smart Control by Vartex is a universal control system (yes, it fits every machine from any manufacturer) that allows you to tailor your needs to your laundry. You can choose the exact amount of water you want to use for each load, rather than simply relying on a standard system that uses water for the full machine capacity. For example, if you load your 60 KG machine with 40 KG of linen, you can still choose to use water for only 40 KG. Additionally, Smart Control allows you to choose your water inlets and water levels to enhance your ecological goals. This makes it easier for you to make changes that will help you clean more sustainably and efficiently.

It’s also possible to track water usage in real time on the Smart Control.

By implementing these two steps, you can make significant improvements to your industrial laundry’s sustainability and environmental impact. With Laundry Intelligence, you can gain insights into how your machines are performing, and Smart Control allows you to make changes easily and efficiently. Not only will these changes be good for the environment, but they can also help you save money on your water and energy bills. So if you own an industrial laundry, it’s time to start thinking about how you can clean sustainably and green.
